Below is the excerpt from Medari (the first Nano novel) detailing not only the births of the Six, but also their personalities.
It was not a beginning, nor an end. It just was. From the destruction of the time Before, and the hope for the time After, Ahl took upon himself the creation again. In this not beginning, Ahl dipped his hands within the Elements left from those before and brought forth six new deities to walk the earth and pull mankind to a new level of living. Fire and Air, a son was born. Passionate and driven, seemingly without direction but always going somewhere. Fire and Water, another son burst forth. A strong will, and a driven mind; conflicted in nature, but the ability to find all cracks and fill them. Earth and Air, his sister was from. Strong and reliable, though very hard to keep in one place for very long. Earth and Water, yet another son was wrought. Giver of life, and sustainer of health, strong in body, gentle in spirit. Fire and Ether, the radiant daughter became. A passion like no other, the key to everything, volatile and turbulent, loving and nurturing. Water and Earth, the last daughter was given. A mind like no other, sharp and far-reaching; a memory for the world, and seeking the answers to questions not asked. These were the six of Ahl's new creation. From that which was lost, for that which would come. Fresh from the pain of the Before, fashioned as the strength of the After, They lived within the Now.
They were not the first upon the earth, but they were the most powerful. Six siblings, three girls and three boys, playing with the world that their mother and father, Ahl, had given them. Other had been before them, though whether they were brothers, sisters, aunts or uncles, none of these six knew. Nor cared. This was their world now. They paid respect to those that had obviously come before. Water was abundant, as was Earth. Fire was useful, and Air kept their hair from their faces. They did not deny the presence of the ether around them, or of it's usefulness in their own endeavors. For them, it was a golden time. Kardanal, the eldest tried to keep them all in line. He tried to insist upon their following their Ahl's rules, to the letter. But every now and again, Kardanal would lose his focus upon being strict and would go to slide down a waterfall with his siblings.
Hogard and Doforr were the twin that had been born next. Seperate from each other by only moments, and yet farther apart on most things than the world had spans for. Hogard was one for logic, for reasoning. His was the mind that came up with their plans. Their schemes that would send Kardanal into hysterics, terrified that Ahl would find out, they were all Hogard's work. He was a mastermind for details, and for things being done correctly. And they did have to be done correctly. If one minute detail was missing from Hogard's plan, the rest would fall to pieces. Everybody had to do his or her own part in order for the plan to work. And if the participants were off, even by a second, the plan would crumble and Hogard would rage.
Doforr was typically the reason the plans would go awry. Not because she had some secret desire to see her twin's work come to nothing, but because, she frankly didn't care. She was a mover, and drifter. Her mind never focused on one thing and she was always flitting off to do her own work and her own pleasures. When a dramatic thing happened and Hogard's plans seemed to be perfectly laid and a good time would be had by everybody, Doforr was interested, and eager. But most times, by the point that her assignment was imminent, she had lost interest and had wandered off to gaze at a cloud. Hogard would be furious with her. And he would rant and he would rave, and he would try to come up with plans to get back at Doforr, to not include her in their games. But none of those plans worked. Doforr and her abilities were integral to Hogard's scheming. She was the missing cog in his machine. Without her, nothing could succeed.
And so Hogard would forgive his wayward sister, and she would laugh and kiss his cheek, the go off on her own way to find a new tree. Hogard would begin plans for his next big scheme. And the other siblings would shake their heads and laugh.
Another pair of twins were the next born. Sheno and Lynti. Lynti was the eldest of this pair by some hours. He was a hard worker and did his best to indulge and care for those around him. His siblings were his charges, as he saw it, and it was his responsibility to provide for them. Be it food to sustain them, materials for Hogard's toys and schemes, or parchment for the youngest's writings, Lynti was the go to man. But his true love was creating things from the Earth that had borne him. Lynti was made from the solidity of stone, and the fertility of dirt. And it was those two things that gave him the most joy. When he was not indulging Hogard's whims or listening intently to Kardanal's lectures on propriety, Hogard spent his days tilling the earth that was his mother, to bring forth things of worth and of necessity. Lynti loved his toils. To him, the hardest chore was also the greatest pleasure. How opposite of his twin sister.
Sheno loved life. She was the light of the family, and a joy to all her siblings. Her laughter bounced off hills and made trees grow. And her anger caused tremblings of the earth and sent her brothers and sisters scurrying for shelter. She was the volatile one, and had the abilities to back it up. Fire would spring from her fingertips whenever she grew angry, and flowers sprung from the ground where she walked. Magic was not a term used for what she did. Magic is a concept known to mankind and mankind alone. But that special essense that the Ether had imbued into her on her birth was hers and hers alone. None of the others had her talent for conjuring items from nothingness, and then banishing them away again. That gift was Sheno's and Sheno's alone. Her gift was key to Hogard's plans, and she enjoyed making new trees and plants for Doforr to find and name. Lynti provided her with whatever she needed to perform great works. A bit of stone to make a fire, a touch of green grass and blue sky to combine into a flower. Sheno had the knack for wishing things to truth, and the ability to make those truths realities. She was the magic maker of the group, and without her, none of their undertakings could have been possible.
The youngest, and the quietest, of the siblings was Pio. A sole child born at the end of Ahl's presence upon the earth, she was as different from her brothers and sisters as they were from those who had come before. While Hogard and Lynti were muscled and masculine, tall and stately, and full of life's energy, Pio was small and demure. A gentle creature, and a soft spoken one. So different from Doforr, who would speak her mind whether anybody asked her to, or whether they were listening at all. Pio, a picture so mousy next to Sheno, whose very body was the desire of any man or woman she came across. Pio's love was not for magic, or the earth. Not for trinkets or gadgets, and certainly not for anything sprung from the earth. If Pio was akin to any of her siblings, it was Kardanal. His heart had love for the teachings of Ahl, and her heart yearned to put more to paper. Pio loved to find anything left from those before and study it, ponder it, and come up with reasons for it's being. She loved her time by herself more than anything else. By herself and with her books and artifacts. But she could not say no to Hogard when he called for her. So she would leave her beloved studies behind and go join in one of his schemes, though she knew that logically it would enver work.
And so this was their beginning. Six siblings left to wander a world that had begun long before and had ended. And now, was beginning again. Ahl had brought them into life and into being, and it was because of Ahl that these six were able to exist. And it was because of Ahl that these six were set to pursue their goals and their hearts desires. That they were able to find the mankind that appealed to them and open their eyes. These six were the new Gods and Goddesses of the world. And soon, all fell to them, and to their desires.
It was only a matter of time before they fell to each others.
There will be more to come later..
But for now, this is all that I am going to put up.
